I like traveling, but booking rooms for living is really annoying. According to CNN Business News that the rise of Airbnb is threatening hotel companies, and most of traditional hotels are going to against Airbnb face to face. However, Marriott decides to corporate with Airbnb. Marriott provide a lot of different style of houses, hotels and even villa to Airbnb which gives more options to Airbnb's users. Marriott wants to provide their costumers a luxurious and high-quality housing experience with well served. Marriott decides to move forward because the consuming behavior is changing. According to CNN Business News, the millennia is the main customers of Airbnb, which means the traditional hotels have less and less young customers. Listening to the hotel marketing is what Marriott does for their brand to overcome the challenge to traditional hotel companies. Having partnership with Airbnb is a solution for Marriott, but is it really helpful to Marriott itself? According to CNN Business News, the ages of Airbnb's main customers are between 18~24, which means most of them are college students or society freshman. Those people have a big chance to avoid choosing expensive houses to live. In long-term, Marriott might get new customers by Airbnb, but it seems not helpful to Marriott now. I think traditional hotel companies should stay together and have their own booking APP and website. Whoever books hotels or living place from them, they have a discount or coupon. The part makes traditional hotels still have advantage is service. People are not served if they are not living in hotels, and that is what Airbnb do not have.

Sometimes the best way to keep your business working is corporation but not competition, just like Marriott and Airbnb although there are still some issues that they need to consider. Competition can get people to break their limit and keep growing, but sometimes corporation might be a better way to everybody.
